OUR GOAL

OVERVIEW

Reciprocity will to work to continue the development of a new Australian family farmer/small-scale farmer ‘network’ based on farmer-to-farmer exchange and aligned to the principles and practices of La Via Campesina.

ASSESSED OUTCOME

To have a fully functioning network of 30-50 family farmers where members are undertaking increasing functional responsibility.

OUR GOAL
  • The development of a deeper understanding of the 3 Reciprocity Partnership projects in the post Chavez era.
  • 2014 Focus: Developing improved coordination and maintaining a regular two-way communication exchange.
OVERVIEW

Reciprocity will work with our in-country coordinator (ICC) and the key contacts in Barinas, Prolesa and Las Tres R’s to better understand their needs as campesinos and their needs of Reciprocity following the death of President Chavez and the establishment of the new Nicolás Maduro Government.

ASSESSED OUTCOME

ICC Role working well; A clear understanding of project needs, VFS Website page up to date, regular two-way communication maintained, in-country-coordinator role established.

VENEZULA

BASQUE COUNTRY

OUR GOAL
  • Consolidate, build on and further integrate with the Basque Ehne Bazkaia farmer network.
  • 2014 Focus: Relationship Development/Developing Shared Understanding

OVERVIEW

Reciprocity, with the assistance of our In-Country Co-ordinator (ICC), will work with the 5 existing farmer contacts established in 2013 to further develop the network. As perspectives and needs are better understood, Reciprocity will seek to make connections between this group and the Australian Family Farmer United Network.

ASSESSED OUTCOME

ICC role working well; FS Website page functional, utilized & up to date; regular communication maintained; farmer network expanded and relationship deepened, 3-5 functioning connections between PV and FFUN farmers.

JAPAN

OUR GOAL
  • Consolidate Reciprocity’s relationship with the Japanese Family Farmer Movement NOUMINREN and their farmer networks.
  • 2014 Focus: Relationship Development/Developing Shared Understanding
OVERVIEW

Reciprocity will visit Japan and work with NOUMINREN Executives and farmers to consolidate relationships and develop a network of contacts.

ASSESSED OUTCOME

To have more NOUMINREN farmer contacts; to have greater input and utility of our Japan FS Website page in closer association with NOUMINREN.

UNITED KINGDOM

OUR GOAL
  • Establish connections with UK La Via Campesina and small-scale farmer networks.
  • 2014 Focus: Relationship Development/Developing Shared Understanding
OVERVIEW

Reciprocity will visit the UK and work with the LVC’s Land Workers Alliance and other small-scale farmer networks to make contacts and develop relationships with, and build and share information about farmer network.

ASSESSED OUTCOME

To establish contacts and build relationships with LWA, to collect and share data on LWA farmers, set up UK FS Website page.

OUR GOAL
  • Consolidate Reciprocity’s relationship with farmer networks.
  • 2014 Focus: Relationship Development/Developing Shared Understanding
OVERVIEW

Reciprocity will consolidate its relationship with Korean Peasant League and the Korean Women’s Peasant Association. Reciprocity will also seek to set up an in country coordinator for Korea.

ASSESSED OUTCOME

To establish a Korean LVC/KWPA/KPL liaison and contact person, to have more KWPA/KPL farmer contacts; to have greater input and utility of our Korea FS Website in closer association with KWPA/KPL.

KOREA

SPAIN & FRANCE

OUR GOAL
  • To make contact with LVC and small scale farmer organizations and investigate alternative agricultural models.
  • 2014 Focus: Relationship Development/Developing Shared Understanding
OVERVIEW

Reciprocity will work with our existing contacts in Spain and France to explore and make connections with farmers, farmer organisations and aligned social movement that are developing, practicing and supporting alternative agricultural models.

ASSESSED OUTCOME

To have an expanded and established Spanish and French networks of campesinos and social movements.

SPAIN-FRANCE

BRAZIL

OUR GOAL
  • To establish contact with the MST leadership and its members in order to set-up an information and ideas sharing network.
  • 2014 Focus: Relationship Development/Developing Shared Understanding
OVERVIEW

Reciprocity will visit Brazil and attend the 6th MST National Congress and a number of farmer sites across Brazil. Reciprocity will also continue to build its relationships with the Friends of the MST in the US and seek opportunities for building relationships.

ASSESSED OUTCOME

To have established an initial relationship with members of the MST, be in regular contact and to be maintaining a up to date B Website page.

OVERVIEW

Reciprocity will explore opportunities to deepen our relationships with existing contacts and further expand our understandings of the LVC, Grain, NYFC,  African Pacifi c/Certlink.

To have regular two way communication with key contacts in these organizations; to develop better shared understanding of needs have undertaken actions to meet those needs.
